About Kendall

  • CHRISTIAN AND LIFELONG SHELBY COUNTY RESIDENT WITH CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES AND BELIEFS

Kendall was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and has lived in Shelby County her entire life. She is a proud graduate of Oak Mountain High School and a lifelong Christian with conservative principles and beliefs. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (“UAB”) and a Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University.

  • CIVIL TRIAL LAWYER WITH YEARS OF PRACTICE IN STATE DISTRICT COURT AND A REPUTATION FOR GETTING THINGS DONE

Kendall is a civil trial lawyer with Parsons, Lee, & Juliano, P.C. (“PL&J”). She has worked for PL&J since she was 15 years old, gaining hands-on experience in nearly every role within the firm. From answering phone calls at the front desk to running errands and making deliveries to courthouses to working as a legal assistant, a paralegal, a law clerk, and now an attorney, Kendall possesses a deeply rooted understanding of the legal system — not just in the courtroom, but from the ground up. Her roles in the firm have shaped her into a person who values every voice and respects every person in the legal process.

Over the past 10 years, Kendall has tried cases and represented clients in district courts across Alabama, including Shelby County. Her experience in district court extends beyond civil matters. From contesting traffic violations to defending individuals against debt collectors to representing clients accused of misdemeanors, Kendall has just about done it all. She has also been appointed to serve as a guardian ad litem in the Shelby County District Court, where Kendall is responsible for reviewing and assessing proposed settlements in cases involving minors.

District court holds a special place in Kendall’s heart because it’s the place where she was first given the opportunity to handle and try cases on her own. In her early years of practice, district court is where Kendall truly learned how to be a lawyer and find her own footing.

Having handled cases at every level of the court system, Kendall brings a broad perspective to the bench. She is no stranger to a high-volume case load and would approach the bench with the same skill and efficiency she brings to her current practice. Known around the office as the “firm fire extinguisher,” Kendall is the attorney everyone calls when the unexpected hits and immediate help is needed. She is known for her ability to thrive under pressure and deliver results quickly and efficiently. Kendall is also the go-to appellate brief writer in her firm, trusted for her clarity, precision, and high success rate before the Alabama Supreme Court.

  • DEVOTED MOM, WIFE, DOG OWNER, AND BOATING ENTHUSIAST WITH A MODERATELY IMPRESSIVE RIB RUB

Kendall lives in North Shelby County with her husband, Joel, and their three daughters: Addison (15), Blair (10), and Ellis (5 mos.). Their family includes three dogs — Cash, Dallas, and Shug — who bring comfort, laughter, and the occasional chewed-up shoe to their everyday life.

Kendall is the second of four siblings who grew up close in age. Much of Kendall’s childhood was spent making memories on her family’s farm in Shelby County (pictured above) and watching reruns of The Andy Griffith Show with her dad and siblings. She believes some of the greatest life lessons come from Mayberry.

Kendall plays the piano by ear, a talent she picked up naturally as a child, and she is just as comfortable behind the wheel of a boat as she is behind a podium — skills that her dad, David Lee, proudly taught her from a young age.

Much like her father, Kendall can tell you the best BBQ restaurant in just about every county in Alabama. She is a three-time rib-off champion, proudly beating all of the men in her family as the only female competitor. And if you ask her husband Joel, he’ll tell you with a story and a laugh that Kendall’s favorite food is barbecue, hands down. When they were planning their first date, Kendall asked if they could eat at Martin’s BBQ in Cahaba Heights, a choice that immediately showed Joel just how down-to-earth she really is.

Inspired by the example of her mom, Tammy, Kendall was raised to believe that there is no such thing as a man’s job vs. a woman’s job — whether it was riding a lawn mower, grilling a steak, or throwing a perfect spiral, Kendall was always encouraged to jump in and learn. That mindset of confidence and capability laid the foundation for her pursuit of law school and her goal of becoming a judge.

  • FROM TEENAGE MOM TO TRAILBLAZER

Kendall’s proudest accomplishment is raising her daughter, Addison, whom she had as a teenager. Becoming a mom at a young age came with challenges, but quitting was never an option for Kendall. For Addison’s sake, Kendall stayed in school, determined to build a better future for both of them. She not only graduated from college but went on to earn her law degree. Now, with Addison, Blair, and Ellis cheering her on, Kendall is pursuing her goal of becoming a judge, serving as a positive example not only to her daughters but to other teenage moms that life isn’t over just because it gets tough, and with determination and hard work, there are no limitations on what you can achieve.

  • TRUSTING GOD'S PLAN, SURROUNDED BY TWO CHURCH FAMILIES

Kendall and her family split their time between two churches — Asbury United Methodist Church, where Kendall was confirmed as a child, and Bluff Park United Methodist Church, where her husband, Joel, plays in the band for the Gathering service. Kendall and Joel are grateful for their church communities and the senior pastors who have guided and inspired them along the way: Reverend Ross Furio, the senior pastor at Bluff Park, and Reverend Mike Holly, who previously served as the senior pastor at Bluff Park and now serves at Asbury.

Kendall’s faith has been a constant source of strength and direction in her personal life. As a single, teenage mother, Kendall learned early on to trust in God’s plan even when the road ahead seemed uncertain. That experience shaped her into a person of strength, resilience, and compassion for others.

  • IN THE MATTER OF ALABAMA V. AUBURN

Kendall’s family is a house divided: half proudly cheer for Auburn, the other half bleeds Alabama crimson. In the middle of the rivalry sits baby Ellis, the official tie-breaker, who has been declared a temporary Ole Miss fan until she’s old enough to pick a side of her own. One thing they can all agree on, however, is their shared love for the Atlanta Braves.
